I’ve covered some of the big names in free online homeschooling resources in the past, like Khan Academy and Easy Peasy All in One. But today I want to share with you some lesser known but really great free homeschool curriculum resources that you can find online and start using today!

Free Homeschool Curriculum – CK-12.org
The first on my list of free homeschool curriculum resources is CK-12.org. This is a completely free online learning program that covers a complete, standards aligned math curriculum for kids in Middle and High School, and a complete science curriculum for K – 12. They also have lessons in writing, spelling, geography, history, economics and more. All completely free, no strings attached.
There are a lot of different things you can do on their website, from video lessons to practice problems to interactive online textbooks. They even have a free AI tutor called Flexi that’s really neat. You can ask it anything or upload a picture of a difficult math problem that you need help solving. It’s really cool.
My favorite part of their website is their FlexBooks 2.0 interactive textbooks. These are available for middle and high school math and science as well as several social studies courses. The lessons are a mixture of text, video, and interactive exercises. They also include reviews, study guides, and the AI tutor ready if you have questions.
I recently did a full review of CK-12.org on my YouTube channel, so be sure to check that out if you want a more in depth look at all the features.
Freedom Homeschooling
Next on our list of free homeschool curriculum resources is a website called FreedomHomeschooling.com. This is a great resource for homeschoolers looking for a specific lesson that they can access for free online. The resources are organized by subject and include things like Math, Language Arts, Life Skills, Science, Foreign Language and more. They even have links to some all-in-one programs, such as athomemiddleschool.com which I’d never heard of before.
Let’s say you’re looking for a history lesson. Go to their social studies page and you can browse through all the different recommendations. Anything labeled with a C is a Christian resource, the rest are secular. See something you like? Just click the link and you’ll be able to go right to the website and get started.
So you can should definitely bookmark this website and use it whenever you’re looking for a certain lesson or topic that you need a free homeschooling resource for.
Zearn Free Homeschool Math Curriculum
Next is a free homeschool program just for math called Zearn. Zearn is a top rated math learning platform for kids in kindergarten through 8th grade that you can use in your homeschool completely free of charge. Kids will learn through video lessons and practice problems, earning badges as they complete the challenges and move through the curriculum.
The program is fairly straightforward and easy for kids to use. The video lessons include real people, which I like, and they’re interactive with questions to answer along the way, which makes them less boring to watch. What’s more, they include a ton of teaching resources that parents can use, so you can definitely use this program for your entire math curriculum.
PBS Learning Media
Next is a free website from PBS called PBS Learning Media. While this site was designed with teachers in mind, anyone can create a free account and gain access to the videos and resources.
There are a lot of great videos on here in science, social studies, math, language arts and more. You can narrow things down by grade level and resource type to find lesson plans, interactive lessons, and videos. If you’re using Google Classroom in your homeschool you can easily add these videos and lessons to your homeschool schedule.
I think you’ll be surprised by some of the cool free homeschooling resources you’ll find on this website. Browse through the many resources for writing, theater, health and physical education, economics, and pretty much any other subject you can think of, or use the search function to find a specific resource to add to your homeschool curriculum.
Teach Your Monster to Read
If you’ve been looking for an early reading program for your younger homeschool students, but didn’t want to pay for something like ABC mouse or Hooked on Phonics, here is a free program that’s a lot of fun for kids called Teach Your Monster to Read. This program shares a lot of similarities with some of the paid phonics and early reading programs, but it’s completely free to use if you do it on a computer.
Your child will create their own monster whom they will guide through playing fun games to build early phonics and reading skills. The courses cover everything from letters and sounds to reading full sentences. In addition to reading skills, they also include educational games for math and adventurous eating.
Unlike a lot of free app you may find, this online learning program contains no adds and no in app purchases. It’s really just a fun and free way for younger kids to learn some important foundational reading and math skills.
I hope this list of free online learning resources for homeschoolers will help add some interesting and fun lessons into your homeschool curriculum. Are there are other great free online resources I forgot to mention? I’d love it if you would share them in the comments to help other homeschool families.
