I have reviewed a lot of homeschool math curriculums, but I know a lot of homeschool parents are most concerned about high school math. So today we’re going to review the best online math programs for homeschool that you don’t have to teach. These are 10 online math curriculum picks that will teach your high schooler math completely independently, so you can be sure your child is learning the math that they need to succeed in life after high school, especially if they plan to go on to University. So let’s get started.
Math Academy High School Math Curriculum

First on our list is a self-paced, accredited online math program that covers all the subjects your student will need for high school math, including AP calculus, called Math Academy. I recently did a review of this high school math curriculum on my YouTube channel, and I was very impressed. It’s rare to find an online math curriculum that has actually been accredited, which I know is important to some families.

You can choose to follow the traditional math sequence of Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and pre-calculus, or you can follow the integrated math sequence which even includes an honors level. They also have an SAT math test prep course.
The courses on Math Academy are comprehensive and thorough, and I love that they start with an adaptive diagnostic assessment so that you can start the course exactly where you need to be. I also like that it’s mastery-based, so you don’t move on in the program until you demonstrate that you actually understand the material.

Unfortunately, this online math curriculum does not offer a free trial. But you can watch my full review video to get an idea of what it’s like before you buy. If you do decide to try this program, it will cost $49 per month per student. They also have a 30-day money-back guarantee where you can get a full refund if you cancel within the first 30 days.
Teaching Textbooks

Next on our list of online high school math curriculum picks is a program that I’ve also reviewed before on my YouTube channel called Teaching Textbooks. This is definitely a favorite of many homeschool families, and it covers a full math curriculum all the way through pre-calculus. The full-year courses are less than $75 each. You can even get a free trial of the first 15 lessons in any course with no credit card required which is awesome.

I like that Teaching Textbooks is a little more colorful and engaging than some of the more dry math programs on our list. You’ll have lesson videos that are more like slide shows with a voice talking over them, but they’re simple to follow and you can watch them over again until you get the concept. Then you’ll have practice questions to solve as well as tests to check for understanding.
They also include a complete eBook of the program, so you can read the lessons in textbook form and even do the problems on paper. So if you make use of this you’ll definitely have a robust high school math curriculum. You’ll just need to find something else for Calculus if your student intends to take that course while in high school.

Compass Classroom Math Curriculum for Calculus

Next on our list isn’t a complete high school math curriculum, but I’m including it because I think this is probably one of the best high school Calculus programs out there. It’s called Calculus for Everyone, and it’s available on Compass Classroom, which is just a really great resource for a lot of high school-level courses.
If you have a Compass Classroom membership, this course is included in the membership, although you will need to purchase the accompanying textbook for the study questions and exercises. If you don’t have a membership, you can purchase the full course which includes the textbook and video lessons for $229.

The videos are very thorough and do a great job of explaining not only how to do Calculus, but also the history behind the math, and real world applications. And I just really like that there’s a physical textbook to go along with the videos. I think this is definitely going to give your student a thorough understanding of Calculus by the time they’re done with the course.
You can view sample lessons on their website, so you can see what the videos will be like before you buy. I also have a full review video of Compass Classroom on my YouTube channel that you can check out to learn more.
Khan Academy Online High School Math Curriculum

Next is a completely free program that anyone can use to learn high school math online called Khan Academy. This is a fully online program that includes video and text lessons, practice problems, quizzes, and tests, and works on a mastery points system, so you can see when you’ve mastered a subject.
They have all the high school math courses that your child will need, including Algebra 1 and 2, high school Geometry, Trigonometry, high school Statistics, Precalculus, and many more. They even have AP Calculus courses and an SAT prep course. So there’s definitely everything you need here for high school math.

To get started you just go to their website, pick your course, and follow along though the units. You can create a free account to keep track of your progress, and if you really want to help your child get the most out of this program, you can also add the Khanmigo AI assistant, although you will have to pay for that add on.
I like the videos on Khan academy, they definitely do a good job of explaining the math concepts. They also explain the answers to the practice problems that you get wrong, which is very helpful.
I do have a full review video of Khan Academy as well as a video on their AI assistant on my YouTube channel.
Aleks Math

Next is another fully online high school math program called Aleks. This program includes all of the high school math subjects you would expect, and it starts off with a knowledge check that determines what you already know. Then you can start on a learning path that’s customized just for you, which is really cool.
Then you’ll have lessons and practice problems as you work towards mastery. If you struggle with a concept, you’ll have lots of explanations to help you understand and get it right. And I really love the way it shows you your progress through the course and you can see how many topics you’ve mastered in each category and how many you still need to work on.

You can get a free trial of the Aleks math program with just your email address, and you know I love programs like that. After that, you can purchase the program for $19.95 a month, or you can save some money by purchasing a 3 month, 6 month or full year subscription up front. So it’s not a bad price for a high school math program.
Thinkwell Homeschool Math

Next is a really cool high school math curriculum that’s fully online called Thinkwell. This program really has everything you need for a full high school math curriculum, and I think you’re really going to like it.
You purchase one course at a time, and the courses are designed to cover a full academic year of instruction. The video lessons are really engaging. I like how they show the video in one part of the screen and then they have a white board showing the work on the screen too. It’s really cool. You’ll also get printable lesson transcripts and practice worksheets, plus online practice that’s graded in real time.

Most of the courses on Thinkwell are $159 each and include 12 months access. Most of these courses are also accredited, which as I said before, usually is not something you find with a standalone high school math curriculum. So that’s something you might appreciate.
You can also add tutoring support and physical books to really round out the program. And they also offer a 2-week free trial with just your email address, like some of the other programs on this list.
CK-12

Another completely free online high school math program that even includes a free AI tutor is from CK-12. They have an interactive online math curriculum for Algebra and Geometry, as well as traditional online math textbooks for Probability and Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus.

The lessons include text as well as videos, and they are definitely thorough enough to use as your full curriculum. And it’s just really cool that they include the Flexi AI tutor at no cost. Although they are a nonprofit company, so they would appreciate donations!
You can create a free account on CK12.org and then you can do any course that you want. The interactive courses are really cool, but even the courses that have the more traditional online textbooks are still very good, just without some of the bells and whistles. And the conventional textbooks won’t have automatic grading, but you can check your answers and keep track yourself. It’s definitely worth it to get a complete standards-aligned high school math curriculum for free.
If you want to see the CK12 program in depth, I have a full review video on my YouTube channel.
CTC Math

Another popular high school math curriculum for homeschool is from CTC Math. This is another online math curriculum that will give you a free trial, and homeschoolers can get the program for half off, so you can get a single membership for $19.95 a month or $128.50 a year. So if you decide to try this program, make sure you’re getting that homeschool discount before you pay!
The CTC Math program has all the high school math courses you would expect including calculus. The lessons include short videos, practice problems and PDF worksheets. There are also online exams, and the program will keep track of all your grades, which is helpful.

This is also another program that works on a mastery system, which I really like. I also like that their free trial lets you test out the first few lessons in any grade level with no time limit. So you can really have the chance to make sure this is the right math program for you before you make the decision to purchase it.
The Art of Problem Solving

If you like Beast Academy math and have used it for your elementary or middle school student, you might want to check out the Art of Problem Solving. This is from the same company as Beast Academy, and includes both live and self-paced online math courses.
The self-paced courses are designed to be completed in as little as 3 to 6 months, although most of the courses on here are only offered as live online classes. You can check out the schedule and pricing online, as they have very different offerings based on the course. For example, their 25-week Calculus course costs $810 plus the cost of the textbook, and there are several different start dates throughout the year.

Unfortunately, there is no free trial of this program to check out. However, they do have a video of how this works on their website. They also have a lot of lesson videos that you can check out for free so you can get an idea of how their lessons work. And if you’re looking for a really advanced online math program for your child and have the money to spend, you might want to check out the Art of Problem Solving Academy virtual campus.
Mr D Math
Finally, last on our list is another fully accredited online high school math program called Mr. D Math. This is another program where you can get either live online or self-paced courses, and you’ll find all the high school math courses you need including Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Consumer Math and Calculus. The self-paced courses include pre-recorded video lessons, computer-graded exams, and access to extra help sessions with a teacher.
You can preview these courses through a demo, and this website isn’t even going to ask for your email address. Just log in with user name Demo and password mrdmath. So that’s really cool.

You’ll be able to view sample videos from their self-paced courses, take online quizzes and download worksheet PDFs. So you can definitely get a good idea of what the program is like before you sign up.
If you end up liking it, the cost for the self-paced courses is $217 each. For the live online courses, there is an additional $290 fee on top of the $217 per course.

So hopefully this list of the 10 best online high school math curriculum picks for homeschool gave you some good ideas to look into for your student. I know I saw some programs I’ll definitely consider once my kids are older. Although I do feel comfortable teaching math at this level, sometimes kids learn better from other teachers or programs rather than their parents. So I’ll be open to different options once we get there.
If you have any questions on anything from this post, please let me know in the comments and I’ll be happy to answer.
